Tool #2 Building Community in the Online Environment

I have commented on 5 fellow teachers blogs. As I have been reading through some of the blogs I have found some really great ideas to use in my classroom.  I was looking at the blogs that Stacye Foster follows and I found one that will be useful as I plan math activities for the 2011-2012 school year, http://loryevanspage.blogspot.com/.  She has lots of great ideas for math lessons and tubs.
I really like the idea of participating in an online community, it gives you the opportunity to see what other teachers are doing in their classroom.  As for sharing my thoughts publicly, in my opinion it is easier to walk across the hall and share my thoughts with my team.  However, sharing my thoughts publicly allows other educators to see what I am doing in my classroom.

  1. As you look at others' blogs..you will find some people you want to follow. Hopefully you can build a learning community of people who can encourage you as you begin your teaching career...it helps when others support you.
